Wax Eye Postcard

Purchased by the museum in 1882, this wax moulage depicts a variety of eye diseases and conditions including polyps, cancer, and bruising. Models made of wax were commonly used as teaching devices for diagnosing but were also prized for their realism and artistic value; occasionally they were exhibited to the public.
