Michelle String Doll

If you've been to the Museum, you surely remember our exhibit on Dr. Chevalier Jackson and his collection of swallowed objects!

However, you did not meet Dr. Jackson's "assistant" Michelle, a toddler-sized doll complete with trachea and esophagus, used by Dr. Jackson to practice his technique for removing foreign objects from the airway without surgery. While not permanently on display, Michelle lives in the collection here at the Mütter, and she even has a body double for educational pop-ups!
