Poison Tablet Necklace
These tablets casted from REAL antique antiseptic tablets depict the skull and cross bones on one side of the coffin and the word "POISON" on the other just as the real poison tablets do.
Mercury Bichloride, along with being used to treat syphilis, has a very dark history which shaped how drastic these tablets look compared to other poisons. It was the cause of many svicides, mvrders, and accidental deaths in the 1900's. Before looking as it's pictured here, it was often mistaken as candy especially with kids. One 1913 newspaper headline states “Girl Makes Great Mistake—Bichloride Is Not Candy". Just three tablets are enough for an adult to come to an early end and it was readily available at your local pharmacy.
Solid White Bronze on a 18in silver plate chain. Pendants are double-sided; Poison on one side and Skull and Crossbones on the other. Handcrafted by Crooked Teeth Keys.
